Use NX2 to edit JPG (or TIFF) photos from any camera, not just Nikon. No need to use Photoshop or other complex image editors. Save .JPG (or .TIF) as .NEF to store all editing steps safely and separately with versioning. Easily output .NEF back to .JPG (or .TIF) for web upload or printing. I’m using NX2 v2.2 and Nik Efex Pro 3.0 for special effects.

@EdVidz nx2 is a lot like lightroom – it was not meant to do image manipulation like photoshop, ie it can’t do painting or major graphic editing. however, it has a rather good healing tool that automatically clones and blends neighbouring areas to blot out the distracting blemish or stain. it does this non-destructively, meaning, your edits are stored in the .nef files so you can change it later if you want to.

I often use Photoshop CS4 for painting in a color. This is often a color gap, stain that detracts from a large area of color; how do you paint in a matching color in NX2?
